Rox and Bette Midler Hulaween 2006
This is one great party to start your season off with, as only Bette Midler can do as she casts her spell on you!
Hulaween is Bette Midler’s very sold out annual event for all the New Yorkers and their friends (like us) at the fabulous Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The great thing is, that it’s all for a great cause: the New York Restoration Project (NYRP). It’s a Non Profit Organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open spaces and I think, especially since 9/11, it’s a truly wonderful fundraiser! The NYRP is in partnership with the city of New York and its initiative to plant and care for one million new trees throughout NYC’s five boroughs by 2017!
We love covering this party, as most celebs that come are unrecognizable, like Michael Kors and Martha Stewart. Joy Behar (Bette’s sidekick) was also there in 2006 to bully the crowd into anteing up during the auction.
Willie Nelson said, “I’m the Blues.” He was dressed in a black suit and looking well! It’s a crowd of well-heeled, big drinking, nature-lovers that come in some fabulous costumes.
The year we went was so much fun and they raised more than $2 million that night. Way to go Bette!
